The TEAC AG-5D is a 5.1-channel Home Theater AV receiver introduced in the early 2000s, designed to deliver comprehensive management for both multichannel home cinema audio and traditional stereo music playback.

It is famous for being the first in its series to adopt Current Feedback architecture, a technology typically reserved for higher-end models from the Japanese manufacturer, guaranteeing fast, precise sound reproduction and a very wide stereo soundstage.

The PM5005 offers a warm, detailed, and balanced sound. Its integrated construction using discrete components (bypassing standard integrated circuits along the signal path) ensures superior audio quality. It features the Source Direct function, which bypasses tone controls to provide the purest and most direct signal path. Additionally, it includes a dedicated phono stage for connecting turntables with MM cartridges directly. 

• Audio Configuration: 5.1 surround receiver with hardware decoding for Dolby Digital, DTS, and Dolby Pro Logic II.

• Power Output: Approximately 100 W per channel into 6 ohms (or 75–80 W per channel into 8 ohms), sufficient to drive medium-sensitivity bookshelf and floorstanding speakers.

• Tuner Section: Integrated FM/AM radio with RDS (Radio Data System) and station presets.

• Digital Connectivity: Optical and coaxial digital audio inputs for connecting DVD players, Blu-ray players, or gaming consoles.
